Strategic Plan Comments Welcome

8/29/2011

West Virginia State University (WVSU) is encouraging comments on its 2011 - 2013 Strategic Plan, the document that will guide University's direction in the next three years.

The University faculty had the opportunity to look over the seven overarching goals of the Plan when they returned to campus in mid-August. Members of the public will get a chance to view the document at an open meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30 in the Wilson University Union. WVSU students can participate in a similar meeting at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 1 also in the Union.

Those who wish to comment but cannot attend the meetings can read the Plan on the website in the section labeled "About WVSU" or click on http://www.wvstateu.edu/about-wvsu/wvsu-strategic-plan-2011-2013.  A copy of the Plan is available there in PDF format along with a form to submit a comment.

Once the comments have been gathered, they will be submitted to the WVSU Board of Governors for consideration.

When Dr. Hazo W. Carter, Jr. became president in 1987, WVSU implemented a strategic planning process to formalize its efforts. Strategic planning has ensured that various areas of this University are working together in an organized manner to meet higher education goals. The three-year planning cycle provides a time line for accomplishing goals, objectives and strategies.
