New Check-In Procedures for All Students

Effective August 2011

Residence hall check-in for students for Fall 2011 will be on the following days.

Freshman:  Wednesday & Thursday, August 17th & August 18th, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Returning Students:  Saturday & Sunday, August 20th & August 21st, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Football Players & Percussion:  Tuesday, August 9th, 12:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Volleyball Players & Band Members:  Saturday, August 13th, 12:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. 



All students will report to McGhee Suites which is adjacent to Sullivan Hall East.  Representatives from various areas of the University will assist students in verifying class schedules, financial aid requirements, etc.  Once students are processed, they will receive a certified letter and be sent to their assigned residence hall.

At the residence hall, the students will meet their Resident Director and Resident Assistant.  Each student, along with the Resident Assistant, will go to their assigned room and inspect the room’s initial conditions.  Each student will be required to sign an inventory and damage checklist after initial room inspection.  Keys will be given to the student and permission granted to move in their belongings after all procedures are complete.

If you cannot check-in during these times, you will need to have alternate housing arrangements because you will not be permitted to enter the WVSU Residence Halls.  Questions about these procedures may be directed to the Office of Student Affairs at 304-766-4139.
