Trombone Shorty is a New Orleans singer/ song writer/multi-instrumentalist and all-around musical powerhouse. His Supafunkrock sound has been described as a homegrown blend of funk, rock, R & B and hip hop. His acclaimed debut CD "Backatown" has been nominated for a Grammy in the Best Contemporary Jazz Album category. It went to number one on Billboard Magazine's chart of contemporary Jazz after its debut in April 2010 and held the top position for nine straight weeks.
