About MENU

Designed to be more than a career day, this program goes beyond the average “shadow” an adult. Exposing girls and boys to what a parent or mentor in their lives does during the work day is important, but showing them the value of their education, helping them discover the power and possibilities associated with a balanced work and family life, and providing them an opportunity to share how they envision the future and begin steps toward their end goals in a hands-on and interactive environment is key to their achieving success.

All are invited to bring children & grandchildren to explore different programs and activities that are hosted across campus. Most activities are geared for kids ages 6 to 18. Then annual event is typically held in connection with the National Take Your Sons and Daughters to Work Day.

All departments, colleges and units have the opportunity to get involved by hosting a tour of their office or department, present a career exploration activity, donate unit-branded items for participant gift bags, or simply encourage co-workers to bring the child or children in their lives.

Message to the Campus Community

We continue to closely monitor the evolving situation related to COVID-19 and to adapt our campus preparedness plan accordingly. With the safety of our students, faculty, staff and families being of utmost importance, we have decided to cancel all plans regarding the Bring Your Child to Work Day event that was tentatively scheduled for April 23rd. I would like to thank those who had volunteered to help with the event and I hope that we will be able to start this new tradition in the future.
