The Middle States African Studies Association (MSASA)

The Middle States African Studies Association (MSASA) is an organization currently housed in the West Virginia State University Office of International Affairs located in Institute, West Virginia.  The membership is comprised of institutions interested in the association have an interest in various aspects of Africa, the issues surrounding the people of Africa, cultures and environments in Africa, Africans and the Americas, and the history of the African Diaspora.

The Middle States African Studies Association provides avenues for mentoring untenured faculty, intellectual stimulation on Africa and African Diaspora issues, support for African causes, and supports research concerning Africa, African people, and other related matters.  An annual conference series is held at the WVSU campus and in the community.
