WVSU Cares Day brings together Yellow Jacket students, faculty, staff and alumni for a one-of-a-kind service opportunity. Project sites around the community of Institute, and in Kanawha and Putnam counties, have already been identified. The projects may include outdoor clean-up, working with youth, literacy education, serving meals, office work, and a variety of other worthwhile endeavors. The 2016 WVSU Cares Day will take place on Saturday, April 23, 2016.
Volunteers are an integral part of the success of this event as they build relationships and help their fellow Yellow Jackets get connected to community service.  Community service can be a rewarding undertaking for anyone, and the WVSU Cares Day will include many fun, hands-on activities that motivate and involve volunteers while offering a sense of accomplishment and camaraderie.

WVSU Cares Day is West Virginia State University’s largest community service event. Last year, over 325 students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends participated in 2014, contributing over 1300 hours of service to the Kanawha and Putnam County communities! WVSU Cares Dayis a great opportunity for WVSU students to learn about local organizations and agencies and get their hands dirty by volunteering.
