Chamber Music Goes Sax-Y with WVSU’s Premier Saxophone Quartet
‘3 Hits and a Ms.’ at
Art Walk and Taylor Books during FestivALL Charleston

INSTITUTE, W.Va. -- The Charleston Chamber Music Society is introducing West Virginia State University’s outstanding Saxophone Quartet, ‘Three Hits and a Ms.’ to Charleston audiences when ‘Chamber Music Goes Sax-y’ during FestivALL Charleston 2012.

The quartet will be playing at multiple venues on Capitol and Hale Streets during the FestivALL Charleston Art Walk on Thursday, June 21, 5pm – 8pm, with special guest saxophonist Berke McKelvey of the Berklee College of Music.  They will also play at Taylor Books on Saturday, June 16, beginning at 4p.m.

Three Hits and a Ms. is one of the premier student chamber ensembles at West Virginia State University.  This dynamic saxophone quartet performs in a variety of genres, taking on the standards as well as bold new literature.  Three Hits recently performed for WV First Lady Joanne Jaeger Tomblin, military veterans and their families at the “Red, White, and Blues BBQ.” 

Members of the quartet are: Josh Rotenberry - Soprano Sax;  Casey Sharp - Alto Sax;  James Hodges - Tenor Sax;  and Austin Campbell - Baritone Sax.
