Playwright William Missouri Downs to Give May 3 Faculty Lecture 

INSTITUTE, W.Va. -- On Thursday, May 3, playwright William Missouri Downs will be on campus to give the faculty lecture at 12:30 p.m. in 103 Davis Fine Arts.  His play Dead White Males will be performed by WVSU students on May 3, 4, and 5 at 7:30 p.m in the Davis Fine Arts Theater. 

William Missouri Downs ,originally from Bay City, Michigan, is a playwright, director and author. Downs has written for several sitcoms including My Two Dads, Amen and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.  He is the author of 20 plays that have had well over one hundred productions.

He earned his bachelor's degree from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, his MFA in acting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his second MFA in screenwriting from UCLA. Currently, he is a professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Wyoming.
          
The Faculty Lecture Series is free and open to the public.
