Higher Education Day is Feb 10


Friday, February 10 is Higher Education Day at the Legislature. West Virginia State University will join other public and private colleges and universities and community colleges to highlight the value of higher education to the citizenry of West Virginia. It is also an opportunity for the institutions to showcase their academic programs and projects.

The Day will last from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with displays in the upper rotunda of the capitol. Governor Earl Ray Tomblin will make a proclamation at 10 a.m. in the Governor's Reception Room. Following that there will be presentations in the House at 11 a.m. and the Senate at 11:30 a.m. WVSU President Hazo W. Carter, Jr. is expected to be present for the ceremonies along with other college and university presidents.
