Windows and Mirrors Exhibit Jan 17- 27

Window and Mirrors Art Exhibit on Display January 17 - 27

"Windows and Mirrors: Reflections on the War in Afghanistan" will be on display in the gallery of the Davis Fine Arts Building from January 17 - 27. The traveling exhibit is intended to provide an opportunity for reflection on the human and economic costs of the war in Afghanistan for soldiers, their families, civilians and the public at large. The vision is to encourage a renewed commitment to diplomacy, reconciliation, development and reconstruction in Afghanistan, at home, and around the world.

On January 20 at 7 p.m. in conjunction with the exhibit there will be a reception and discussion on the "Social and Political Power of Visual Art" by Dr. Chuck Smith, retired WVSU professor of political science.   This event will also be held in the gallery.

The Della Brown Taylor Hardman Gallery is open weekdays, January 17 - 27 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, January 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The exhibit is a Seneca 2 production.

A special showing of "The Fruit of Our Labors: Afghan Perspectives in Film" will be held on Saturday January 21 on 11 a.m. in the Davis Fine Arts Theater. It features ten short Afghan-made documentaries.
