WVSU | West Virginia State University

The campus currently uses Pelco DX8100 series DVRs and Pelco cameras connected via twisted pairs. No other types of surveillance equipment is currently authorized for any University or Land Grant building or office. This will be revisited by the working group as technology changes.

All remote monitoring is to be done using the Pelco DX8100 client.

The DVRs and cameras are all to be on the surveillance network only. This network will not have internet access. No bridging between this network and any other is to occur. The surveillance network will require manual network set up of any DVRs and PCs as the network will NOT be plug and play and will not offer DHCP. Users are NOT to disconnect or change thier network settings.

All access to the surveillance network will have to be authorized through the assigned administrator in Public Safety. Requests for access should be emailed to MJR William Porterfield at porterwh@wvstateu.edu.

All requests for viewing or archiving of recorded footage MUST BE MADE through Public Safety.

All users will only use their campus assigned login and password. This account is not to be shared with anyone.

Departments granted access will be responsible for all client access licenses.
