I provide overall departmental leadership in marketing, advertising and other communication needs as a member of the Vice President's Cabinet. I write and edit news stories, manage publications, and work with the University Relations staff on social media management, media relations and general WVSU marketing initiatives to ensure an integrated communications system.
I graduated from West Virginia University with a master's degree in integrated marketing communications and WVSU with a bachelor's degree in communications. I have worked at State in various positions since 2002, assuming my current role in 2012. I'm actively involved in the communications teams for the Association of Extension Administrators (Chair) and the Southern Region Program Leadership Network (Chair), as well as a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the Association of Communication Excellence (ACE) in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Life and Human Sciences.

I graduated from the State University of New York Institute of Technology (SUNYIT) with a master’s degree in information design and technology and Washington & Jefferson (W&J) College with a bachelor’s degree in art. My previous work experience includes four years as a communications specialist at W&J and three years in pre-press as a graphic designer for a large printing company in West Virginia. I oversee studio and field video production and editing, providing video and technical support for University special events, video streaming, video segments for web insertions, how-to videos, as well as videos for documentation and archiving purposes. At ETC, we also provide telephone conferencing services available to our clients 24/7, with telephone connection for up to 125 individual lines per client, and support WVSU's communications students' use of professional television and radio equipment.
After graduating from WVSU with a B.S. in Communications, I worked at WV Public Broadcasting as the director of public affairs programs including gubernatorial debates, live inauguration coverage, legislative news and live call-in programs. It was during this time I became involved with sports TV, where I was a freelance camera operator for CBS Sports, FOX Sports and ESPN Regional Sports. After PBS, I returned to WVSU to work in the area of distance learning via satellite technology, providing live statewide and national distance learning classes and teleconferences.
