To be considered an active organization at West Virginia State University, you must have all the information bulleted below on file in the Office of Student Activities:
  • A completed Student Organization Registration Form.  This is an online form that can be completed by following the link in the right hand column of this page.
  • Three enrolled members, each with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better.  Each organization must have a President, Secretary, Treasurer, and a Student Organizations Council Representative.  The Office of Student Activities, using the Request for Accumulative Average Form, will verify this information.  The form is available for download to the right.
  • An updated Constitution on file in the Office of Student Activities.  As organizations make changes to their constitutions, it needs to be submitted to the Office of Student Activites.  A sample constitution is available to the right.

A FEIN is not required. However, it is necessary to open bank accounts and apply for Student Government funding.  FEINs are placed in the organization’s permanent file. Step by step directions are available to the right.  Organizations are NOT permitted to use WVSU’s FEIN for any reason.

The deadline to register as an active organization is 30 days prior to the start of the Fall semester.  Organizations not registered before that date will forfeit all privileges afforded to them by the Office of Student Activities.
