West Virginia State University Extension Service to Host 4-H Day Camp for Pre-school Youths

WVSU Extension Service will host a free half-day 4-H camp this summer for pre-school youths ages 3-5 called Little Growers: Frontiers. Sessions will take place monthly throughout the summer on the University’s Institute campus, focusing on environmental education and activities.

WVSU Women's Tennis Team Advances to Sweet 16 for Second Year in a Row

The West Virginia State University women's tennis team defeated Mercyhurst 4-0 Tuesday to advance to the NCAA Division II Sweet 16 for the second year in a row. The Yellow Jackets will next play in Altamonte Springs, Florida, next week during the finals, May 22-25.

West Virginia State University Extension Agent Named PresidentĀ of National Community and Economic Development Association

A West Virginia State University (WVSU) extension agent has been named president of a national community and economic development organization, marking not only the first such appointment for the University but also the first time the position has been held by a representative from one of the nation’s 1890 Land-Grant Universities.

Historic Softball Season Comes to an End in NCAA Regional Championship Game

INSTITUTE, W.Va. – West Virginia State University concluded their historic season with a 11-5 loss to West Chester in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region 2 championship game Saturday afternoon at Lady Jacket Field. The Yellow Jackets (35-16) hosted the NCAA Regional for the first time in program history and won the most regular season conference wins (24) for the first time in program history. WVSU also were the Mountain East Conference South Division regular season champions.
