Gold Star Mother to Speak at West Virginia State University Veterans Day Event

INSTITUTE, W.Va. – Shirley White, president of West Virginia Gold Star Mothers, will speak at a Veterans Day event at West Virginia State University (WVSU) Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 10 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.

West Virginia Gold Star Mothers is an affiliate of American Gold Star Mothers, Inc., an organization of mothers who have lost sons or daughters in service of the United States Armed Forces. White’s son, Robert, served in the U.S. Army and was killed in Afghanistan in 2005.

The event is sponsored by WVSU Military Student Services and Leadership Studies.

White will speak in room 134 of the Wilson University Union.
